NOTES FOR GROUP A

Joe Strzalka Leading

What can canSAS do to foster development of experimental techniques?

1. Host a list of techniques and glossary of acronyms. Explain capabilities and advantages for different techniques.

2. Encourage instrument scientists to contribute descriptions of beamline capabilities and sample environments. Aspirational goal could be posting a CAD model of sample environments and high-throughput accessories.

3. Establish a new working group for the contrast variation community to encompass RSoXS and SANS. Significant overlap between canSAS IX attendees and this community. The upcoming workshop planned by this community could be good opportunity to promote this group.

4. Multimodal measurements would also benefit from appropriate standard reference materials for cross-checks.

5. Educate users regarding complementary techniques, especially tie-ins with simulations. Collecting multimodal success stories could promote more effort in this regard.
